Las voces del campo Farm Laborers in Mexico
This video allows us to hear the voices of two family members of internal agricultural migrant workers and three Otomí migrant workers, and to better understand the situations that they face. The featured interviews took place between December 2022 and January 2023 in the rural communities of the Sierra Madre Oriental and the Huasteca regions of the state of Veracruz, Mexico. The populations of these communities are majority indigenous Nahuas, Otomí and Tepehuas. The objective of this video is to express one part of the reality experienced by internal agricultural migrants, their families, and communities. This video supports the Ambulantes program’s broader aim of contributing to societal knowledge of the conditions these workers face and promoting fair labor conditions. Ambulantes is a collaboration between Caminos, CECIG, Fomento, and IREX.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the creation of this video, in particular those who shared their testimonies.
