Information Campaign

The A tu migración, ¡no te vayas sin información! campaign focuses on information about COVID-19, safe migration practices, and labor rights for internal migrant farm workers and their families.

In Oaxaca and Veracruz, partners Caminos and Fomento led an in-person campaign through field visits and community assemblies. They distributed face masks, hand sanitizer, and printed materials with information about COVID-19 prevention, vaccination, and labor rights.

The radio station La Voz Campesina Radio Huaya 105.5 FM, managed by Fomento Cultural y Educativo, AC, produced a series of radio programs and segments on the subject areas of the Ambulantes project. Programs aired in Spanish and Náhuatl, Otomí and Tepehua – languages spoken in the Sierra Norte and Huasteca of Veracruz.

As part of the campaign, partners also developed and distributed digital materials and resources through WhatsApp and Facebook. Target audiences included migrant farm workers and their families, as well as foundations, civil society organizations, and the general public.

This digital platform is also used as a distribution medium for the campaign and its materials.

The phrase A tu migración, ¡no te vayas sin información! evokes the meaningful and decisive act of leaving behind one’s community of origin for distant agricultural fields and introduces the “información” that we aim to offer as a fundamental tool for understanding aspects of personal protection prior to departing. This information is not provided with the intention of placing the burden of personal security solely on the migrants, but to offer information on the minimum elements necessary and accessible to promote safer migration.

Users of this digital platform can download the materials from the campaign in the hopes of reaching as many migrant farm workers as possible.
