Phase 2: Collective Organization

A tu migración
¡no te vayas sin información!

In addition to strengthening labor rights, this new phase seeks to equip migrant agricultural laborers with fundamental knowledge about collective organization, thereby supporting the long-term process of securing their rights. It is crucial to recognize that safe migration also depends on access to information, networking and other essential resources.

Materials created include:

  • Second edition of Derechos para llevar. Cartilla de derechos laborales y buenas prácticas para migrar para jornaleras y jornaleros agrícolas y sus familias, (Rights to Carry With You. Booklet on Labor Rights and Good Migration Practices for Agricultural Day Laborers and their Families), with updated rights information according to reforms made to the LFT and the LSS and published in the Decree of January 2024.
  • Migración segura para jornaleras y jornaleros agrícolas y sus familias (Safe migration for agricultural day laborers and their families). This is a folder that includes a traffic light system to identify safe agricultural employment opportunities and organizational tips for migration.
  • Digital content for social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp.
  • Radio spots addressing the campaign’s key topics, including the risks faced by women, girls and teenagers in agricultural migration.
  • Directorio de apoyo (Referral Guide); a tool that gathers contact information for civil society organizations and government institutions at the federal or state level, offering support or guidance to agricultural laborers in the states of origin where Project Ambulantes operates. It aims to assist workers in cases where their labor rights are violated.

This digital platform was also created to distribute the campaign’s information and materials.

Slogan

The phrase “A tu migración, ¡no te vayas sin información!” highlights the significant and decisive act of leaving one’s community of origin for distant work opportunities. It introduces the concept of “information” as a key resource we aim to provide migrants, an essential tool for gaining knowledge and addressing various aspects of personal protection before their departure. The intention is not to burden them with the responsibility for their own safety, but rather to equip them with the basic tools available to ensure a safer migration.

We are providing downloadable campaign materials to users of this digital platform in order to maximize their reach and engage as many migrant agricultural laborers as possible.
