Armando
San Jacinto, Valles Centrales, Oaxaca
Before the mural was put up in his community, Armando already had some information about COVID-19. He knew: “That it was a serious illness and had led to the closure of the schools and of workplaces.”
“It seems very good to me that they’ve put up the mural, mostly because of the message it shares.” This message, for Armando, is relevant for his community: “It helps more than people imagine, it informs people to measures to protect from the disease, to take care of their personal health.”
Armando has worked on many initiatives in his community: “I’ve participated in community works and cultural and traditional events.” In this sense he highlights the utility of this work and of collective participation, as well as the importance of sharing information on this subject and others which are useful for the community: “I’d like to help the migrants, this requires support because at times there is no one to guide or support them outside the community, especially the children because they don’t have school.”
