El Rinc\u00f3n, Zontecomatl\u00e1n, Veracruz<\/strong><\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”custom” border_width=”2″ el_width=”10″ accent_color=”#9aba4a”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space height=”22px”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]In the community of El Rinc\u00f3n, on November 8th<\/sup>, 2022, Fomento presented the results of the Ambulantes project interviews which were conducted in other communities of Zontecomatl\u00e1n. Fomento considered it important to share here because Zontecomatl\u00e1n is one of the communities from which men and women migrate year-round. The assembly touched on topics such as the rights of jornaleros and jornaleras, and the importance of communication between workers, the ranches, and the communities. The information was shared in N\u00e1huatl and in Spanish.<\/p>\n

After the presentation, two women approached to share their impressions. One of them commented that her husband had disappeared in Sinaloa seven years ago, the other women mentioned that her child was lost, and she didn\u2019t know where he was.<\/p>\n

Julia is a woman who is worried about what is happening in her community, she commented the following: \u201cI knew before the event that many men went to the harvest with the promise of a good salary and at the end did not receive it. In other situations, men didn\u2019t return from the harvest at all.\u201d<\/em>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]It was important to her to share this information with the community because \u201cpeople had never come to her community to discuss subjects related to human rights.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Julia was excited for the meeting, above all by the attendance of women. She believes that women can help to generate changes by bringing attention to these topics and sharing information with their sons and husbands who are migrating. She was enthusiastic and believed that better organization would result from the discussion and that there would be more openness to discuss the subject on the part of those familiar with labor conditions.
